I almost never carry cash. I spend better when I dont have it too. Seems like when I use cash its gone fast compared to sliding my card, with all the change.
Wait until your cards and other payments are suddenly turned off. You could be a millionaire travelling in NYC.... and if all gets electronically turned off, then you're no better than that homeless crackfiend on the street.
In the future they'll be able to electronically turn you off financially like a fucking light switch. Think about that for a second.
Always carry cash too, but getting harder and harder to do, as some places don't accept cash anymore. Crazy, it just makes tracking everything you do much easier!
I usually carry around $200 in cash for when or if I might need it.
I use my credit card for 95% of my purchases. My card kicks back 1.5 percent of
total each month. It adds up over the course of a year. I ALWAYS pay my card bill
in full each month. I never have or ever will pay interest on a damn credit card.
